Wine and decantation

I want to be relearned

There are three reasons why a high qualitative red wine should be decanted into a carafe:

  • the venting of the wine: the wine should be enriched with allot of oxygen so the aromas can
  • open up separate the wine from its depot: long storage and ripped wine should be separated from it's depot to avoid the wine lees in the wine glass
  • bring the wine to room temperature: the cellar has a temperature around 12°C. Trough the decantation the wine can be tempered to room temperature - Although regard that it shouldn't get over 18°C.
